I have known Carole since she moved into Swallow Park in 1984 and always valued her as a true friend. We shared many interests the main one being horses. I think the second love of her life was my horse Pinkie, and we enjoyed many hacks together the most memorable ones involving a stop off for coffee at the Huntsman pub in Falfield where we often met her sister Vicky. When we no longer had horses, dog walking partially filled the gap, but we couldn’t relinquish the equine spirit completely and always had a retail fix the first day at Badminton Horse Trials, where we never saw a horse but visited every of the 2,000+ trade stands. The first Wednesday in May will never be the same again. Carole was definitely one of the few people who are I consider special in my life, taken away too soon and I greatly miss her.

I have some lovely recent memories, sharing virtual seats during Wimbledon, commenting on the great young players coming through this year. You had booked your seat in the lounge by the oscillating fan. I was stretched out on a sofa in Cornwall.
Your humour always shone through, you enquired whether Jim & I were going to the pub for the England Match? " If so, please don't wake us up when you go home at sunrise"
Lovely Carole, you can't count the number of ways you will be missed, it was "Always a pleasure, never a chore" to be with you.
